This event is coming up on the heels of the domestication of a new national policy on adolescent health in Nigeria.For long, health and wellbeing of adolescents have received little concern as if after under-5,there are no more health challenges. This has led to the unwarranted levels of disquiet,violence,increased levels of health challenges (including drugs use and its consequences, teenage unwanted pregnancies and unsafe abortions including hysterectomies) low school completion and enrollment rates all impacting negatively on societal well being and national development.

For far too long,PAN has focused on health services within the confines of government and a few private health institutions most of whose services have no provisions for the needs of the adolescents yet this group are the future work force, leaders and parents of tomorrow.In addition,they are the more bravely deprived , easily found in communities, cities,schools and constitute a major proportion of the nation's population. Against this background,PAN is set to change the narrative as she steps out in this Forum .
