The workshop aims to empower teachers and administrative officials of high school and pre-university residential college situated in rural and tribal areas of Karnataka, India regarding Adolescent Health and Well Being. The sessions will focus on all five domains of adolescent well-being.Â
The goal of the workshop is to enhance knowledge of the teachers and build skills to handle pubertal, menstrual, body image, psychosocial, emotional, media and sexuality related concerns of the adolescents. A dedicated session is planned to assist teachers in detecting, managing and counselling for learning and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
The facilitators are trained adolescent health professionals- Dr Pushpalatha S, Gynecologist, Dr Preeti Galagali, Pediatrician and Dr Shubha Badami, Pediatrician. Two youth presenters will facilitate a session on counselling.
This workshop will enable teachers and youth to collaborate for adolescent health education programs in schools and colleges on regular basis for a supportive, enabling and nurturing environment.
