To serve as a celebration of 2023, Kenya YMCA, in partnership with the Organization of African Youth, National Youth Council, Kenya Girl Guides Association, Kenya YWCA, Kenya Scouts Association and Nairobi County Youth Affairs Department have come together to organize the International Youth Day celebration on 11th August 2023.
Activities include: Hosting the Kikao’s (An interactive, intergenerational dialogue), which is anchored on the 5 domains of Young people's wellbeing. The Kikao will contribute to the Nairobi communique: What young want a call to action which will be presented to the Nairobi governor, State Department of Youth, MoH and National Youth Council. OAY will further represent young people in the panel on the 12th of August 2023, to further share the emerging priorities around the 1.8 campaign.
