The African Union sub-cluster on Education for Health and Well-being (EHW) will launch Continental Strategy on Education for Health and Well-being for Adolescents and Young People in Africa (AU EHW Strategy). The goal of the AU EHW Strategy is the improved reproductive, mental, and physical health of (children and) young people while contributing to the achievement of education goals.

Given the multiple and overlapping health priorities competing for teaching and learning time, the strategy aims to provide a cohesive framework for African nations to ensure that young people acquire the knowledge, life skills, values, attitudes, and the agency needed for better health, well-being and learning.

The launch will be held in Addis Ababa under the leadership of the African Union Education, Science, Technology and Innovation section.  The launch at global and regional levels will serve to popularise the strategy as a blueprint for the RECs and Member States to move a collective body of health promotion work forward that can be operationalized down to school level to benefit all learners.
